Bookbinding Coptic jig.
The easiest way to mark / punch the holes in your book covers.
Our punching jig will allow you to make holes in the covers of your notebooks in the right place without measuring.
Just have to select your design in the grill and punch with an awl directly on your boards!
Ideal for use in Coptic, crisscross or even Japanese bindings.
This Coptic binding jig consists of a clear acrylic plate with holes every 5/10mm.
To use simply align up the edge on your book cover (spine side) and use the hole pattern to mark where you want your holes.
Being symmetrical it is very easy to repeat the pattern you want across the cover.
Marked with a helpful set of marks and indicator lines.
The exact middle is marked by the red line. The green lines show the edge of an A5 size book.
Purple lines show the width of an A4 book size. Finally, the yellow lines show the 10mm spacing pattern of holes.
This jig works perfectly with one of our handmade ash handle awls; sold separately.
Made to last from acrylic the size is approximately:-
315mm across
70mm wide
3mm thick
The holes are 2.5mm diameter
